This Healthy Creamy Avocado Sauce can be used on so many meals! It's a healthy combination of avocados, Greek yogurt, cilantro, jalapeños, and spices!
Eat it as a creamy avocado dip, or drizzle it on enchiladas, tacos, nachos, salads…the options are endless! We love it drizzled on our homemade Chicken Enchiladas, Shrimp Ceviche, or Sweet Potato & Black Bean Tacos!
How to Make Healthy Creamy Avocado Sauce with Greek Yogurt
You can have this Creamy Avocado Sauce ready in 5 minutes! And in just two steps:
- Step 1: Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender.
- Step 2: Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy! (About 1- 2 minutes.) All Done!
Types of Blenders
For the smoothest results: Blend in a high-powered blender or a Food Processor (I love my Vitamix!). Don't have a high-powered blender? You can purchase one here:
Using a regular blender? It will take longer to blend and it won't be as smooth, but it will still work! Just stop to mix around the sauce after about a minute of blending. Repeat every minute until desired consistency is reached.
Recipe Notes:
- You can make this Creamy Avocado Sauce as spicy as you'd like! For a milder sauce: Remove the seeds from the jalapeño, use less, or don't use any!
- Want a thicker sauce? This sauce has 1 cup of water to reach a consistency that is easy to drizzle over foods. For a thicker sauce just reduce water to ¾ cup!
- For easy drizzling: Use a plastic Condiment Squeeze Bottle for easy storage and drizzling!
- Storage: Keep refrigerated for up to 3-4 days in the squeeze bottle (with cap on) or an airtight container.

Healthy Creamy Avocado Sauce {with Greek Yogurt}
Ingredients
- 1 Large Avocado (or 2 small)
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup cilantro chopped
- ¼ cup yellow onion minced
- ¼ cup plain greek yogurt (any %fat will work) (can use sour-cream)
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- jalapeño pepper (½ for medium spice level, 1 whole for hot, or eliminate)
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy. For the smoothest results: Blend in a high-powered blender or a food processor (I use a Vitamix!).
- Serve as a dip, or drizzle over your favorite foods!
