- 2 tablespoon olive oil (sub water if avoiding oil)
- 3 large cloves garlic, minced
- 2 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes (I used Muir Glen fire roasted)
- 4 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to spice level preference)
Heat a large pot on medium heat, and add olive oil.
Saute the garlic for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
Add the rest of the ingredients (except for the nutritional yeast).
Bring to a simmer and cook uncovered on medium-low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and mix in the nutritional yeast (if using). Ready to serve! :)
Mix the Marinara Sauce with some Baked Meatballs, then pour over cooked spaghetti, or serve in meatball subs! (Read Blog for full instructions.)
